Or do I want to order a bigger doll/body so this fellow (luts summer 2012) who is pending face-up is not doomed to an eternity of floating head-ness. I have another floating head too (luts winter 2011) but I'm not attached to it at all and am using it to practice painting the faces.
I finally reordered the painting supplies I need to attempt painting it again. I had to give them away when I moved from Japan because of shipping restrictions. A big thank you to my brother and sister who gave me the amazon giftcards I used to order the sealant and stuff. I'm kind of excited to give it another shot even though the first time was a total failure. XD

ReplyDeleteI really am leaning towards him but agree that the open mouth or really any intense expression might get tiring or begin to look silly to me after a while haha. I'm not sure if I want that face-up they have either it's kind of intense and will look almost gaudy with a lot of wigs. But I'm not sure I really trust myself to do it either so if I order it without he's going to be sitting around with no blushing for a while. I wish I liked the event plate since then I would have a more readily available backup. XD

I just missed the luts event and am not entirely sure where I want to get the body from for the luts head is the problem. I need to find more companies that match the resin since I am not enamored with the luts bodies particularly. The skinny ones are ok if not great posers but the ones with a little bit of defined muscles just look weird.
I will hopefully soon be able to paint him though, my stuff has shipped except the gloss.
For boys I like the 65cm boy body from fairyland but it does not match at all. For girls I like the granado neuvo one since it's super flat chested and poses pretty well. I'm not sure how well it would match since they seem to vary in the comparison thread and there isn't a nice recent comparison. (I tend to like more gender neutral dolls). :P

DeleteI thought Luts has a new Delf body that was just released? I love the torso but I'm not too sure about poseability since it doesn't have a chest joint. I'd love to know what other bodies might suit Luts too! I look forward to seeing him with his new faceup! XD
I know...I thought it was a girl too until I saw the page. Which is why I may go for the blank faced version. The makeup is a bit intense for a doll that looks like a little kid. Totally depends on if my next face-up attempt comes out as bad as the first one did hehe.
DeleteYeah that new delf body was the body I was thinking of getting since if I did it through a split where they sell two of the claus together the body is pretty cheap (you get TWO blank claus dolls for $672). It's pretty much the same as the old delf body except for the neck piece.
The new 60cm fairyland body looks similar if you like the look but want more posability but has an extra joint in the chest and swivel joints on the legs so it poses better. And it has more pleasant looking knees. It makes sense that they look a bit similar since they are split off from the same line of dolls. :P
